Special Projects

Over the last few years the Port has provided temporary locations and limited office space for various special projects. These have so far included providing a venue for MOD (UK & International), commercial and MCGA (Marine & Coastguard Agency) to undertake training such as oil pollution response, fire fighting and index berthing practise. The Port estate has also played host to various companies wishing to test new equipment, ROV's (remote operated vehicles), sonar and diver detection equipment and other marine related kit.

Additionally the Port has provided accommodation for various international sailing teams to prepare equipment and train for a variety of world renowned races etc.

The Port has also provided UK and Hollywood film makers with locations and production space as well as being a home base for various survey and salvage operations including the MSC Napoli disaster recovery in January 2007.
