Portland Port can provide multiple deep water alongside berths and anchorages next to the Olympic Sailing venue. A safe and secure private commercial port that is able to offer bunkering, fresh water, shore side power and access to marine support services. Portland Port, although not a marina, is a great alternative for captains, owners and charters looking for a discreet location to base themselves along the south coast of the UK, whether it be to carry out general repairs and maintenance or to visit some of the most famous attractions in England, such as the city of Bath and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Stonehenge.
It is also worth noting that Portland Port is a great option for loading yachts and has successfully assisted with the relocation and the forward transportation of these highly valuable assets.
Portland Port, in association with MGMT, Superyacht Concierge, can offer executive transfers from the south west directly into the heart of the capital and has tickets for all the major sporting events as well as the opening and closing ceremonies.
Take a look at Portland's Superyacht Visitor Guide for Captains and crew.
The south plays host to some of the world's most exciting super yacht regattas, with Portland Port being ideally placed as a transit stop between the Solent and Falmouth.

Olympic 2012 - Weymouth and Portland are proud to be hosting the sailing events of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. For a period of time in July, August and September in 2012, areas of waters in Weymouth Bay and Portland Harbour will host the race courses for the sailing events. To enable safe and secure sailing for the world's top sailing athletes, some restrictions will be necessary. However there will be designated berths available for superyachts, with access to both harbours available at all times, via a defined access channel.
As well as multiple anchorage points deep water berths will also be available in Portland Port for vessels up to 150m LOA and drafts up to 7m.
To assist with planning and ensuring that as many berths are made available as possible we are asking that people get in touch with the Harbour Authority, you can do this by emailing:
sales@portland-port.co.uk or by calling 0044 (0)1305 825340. The pre-booked period will run from 15 July to 9 September 2012.
