Towage

Portland Port is equipped with three primary towage units for towage within Portland Port harbour limits. All craft are fully certificated and operated by fully trained personnel employed by Portland Harbour Authority.
 
Wyke Castle
28 tonne bollard pull twin azimuth stern drive tug. Built in Japan for Japanese coastal towing and harbour towage.
Sandsfoot Castle
17 tonne bollard pull twin screw tug. Ex MOD Dog class tug
Rufus Castle
17 tonne bollard pull twin screw tug. Ex MOD Dog class tug
 
All 3 tugs have fire fighting capabilities.
 
The harbour authority is also equipped with Lineboat “Southwell”, a 3 TBP ex MOD CSB, twin jet drive work and line boat and Lineboat “Chiswell”, a 5 TBP, single screw work and line boat.
