Bunkers

Portland Bunkers International began operation in 2005 and was subsequently sold to Aegean Marine Petroleum Network Inc. in late 2007. Aegean Marine Petroleum operate two bunker barges from the terminal, supplying fuel to some 300 vessels a year.

HFO, MGO & Low Sulphur FO supply by barge at anchor or alongside.

N.B. If vessels calling alongside take bunkers via road tanker the Port must be notified in advance with details of carrier including carrier's risk assessments, insurance, and method statements/operating procedures. A permit to work will not be issued until all paperwork is approved by PPL/PHAL. Vessel must also declare quantity of fuel supplied as overside dues will apply.

N.B. Vessels taking bunkers not supplied by Aegean Oil, at anchor or alongside, via bunker barge; the Port must be notified in advance with details of carrier including carrier's risk assessments, insurance, and method statements/operating procedures as per General Direction 1/2000 para. 13. Bunkering will not be permitted until all paperwork is approved by PHAL. Vessel must also declare quantity of fuel supplied as overside dues will apply. Both carrier barge and recipient vessel will be subject to full Port and Harbour Dues etc in accordance with the Standard Tariff.
